The Rock is a 1996 movie directed by Michael Bay, starring Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage, Ed Harris, David Morse and Michael Biehn.
Synopsis[]
General Francis X. Hummel (Harris), a former Marine, takes over Alcatraz prison, with his old friend Major Tom Baxter (Morse) and a crack team of renegade Marines, (including Tony Todd, Bokeem Woodbine, Raymond Cruz, Steve Harris, Brendan Kelly, and more). Armed with VX Gas rockets, they threaten to fire them at San Francisco, wiping out the city completely. The FBI and Pentagon send in a elite team of Navy SEALs, led by Commander Anderson (Biehn), plus Bioweapons Expert Stanley Goodspeed (Cage) and ex-inmate of Alcatraz and former SAS Captain John Mason (Connery). After Anderson and the SEALs are killed, Goodspeed and Mason eliminate the Marines and disable the rockets.
